Kraken VC is a cost competitive club for the Seattle market. We have strived to keep Kraken VC Tuition as low as possible without sacrificing the offer of a full service club. Our teams will train twice weekly and compete in at least 2 tournaments a month January thru April, and 1 in May, (14s & older). Kraken VC teams will participate in the Puget Sound Region Power League and Pacific Northwest Qualifier in Spokane at the end of March. We also offer the opportunity for Kraken VC teams to attend additional team elected competitions, including Junior National Qualifiers and Championships.

Kraken VC Team Locations for the 2018 Club Season

We are excited to to form Kraken teams in 2 geographic areas, Seattle and Kent / Renton. We will field at least 2 teams in each age group with at least 1 in each geographic area. Reef & Tide (Seattle) team tryouts will be held at the Rainier Community Center in Seattle, and Surf & Sand (Central Puget Sound) team tryouts will be held at the Sandwith Teen Center in Federal Way. 

Parent Meetings at 1st Tryout Date

We will have a brief parent meeting that will begin 30 minutes into the first tryout date of each age group.

Team Training

Our teams will train twice a week, Reef & Tide Seattle teams in the First Hill and Columbia City neighborhoods. Surf & Sand Central Puget Sound teams will train at Kent, Fed Way & Renton facilities. Training days and anticipated times are listed above Practices will be scheduled for 1.5 to 2.5 hours each within the hours listed. Our athletes train in modern volleyball techniques, with the Gold Medal Squared system at the core of our program.

Team Competition Schedules

All Kraken teams will compete in 2-3 tournaments a month January thru April. All teams will compete in the Puget Sound Region Girl's Power League, with 5 play dates (4 for U12). All teams will also play over the President's Day Weekend or a regional tournament in February, Pacific Northwest Qualifier, Puget Sound Regional Championships, PSR Bid Tournament (if selected), and most will play a tourney in early May. Reef & Surf teams may also travel to an addtional qualifier, and compete in addt'l regional events.

Club Team Tuition Info

Details regarding our 2018 Season Tuition Costs and Payment Schedule for each age group will be posted below and are also posted in printable format above. Signing Payment is due with completed contract on the PSR Signing Date. 6 months worth of tuition are consolidated into 4 equal monthly payments due on the 1st of the following months: Dec (15th), Jan, Feb & March. We offer a 5% discount if the entire tuition is paid in full by Dec 1. We offer a 2.5% discount per sibling for those families with multiple athletes on our club teams.

  • Additional tournaments costs elected by team including:  post season entry fees & coach travel costs
  • Training Costs for Post Season
  • Player's Equipment: mandatory equip purchases like knee pads and extra spandex, ankle braces
  • Extra Kraken Gear: Kraken socks, Kraken Spandex, hoodies, sweatpants, Kraken leggings, etc.
  • Player Recruiting Video Services

Team Elected Tournaments & Travel

Teams may elect to attend additional destination competitions outside of the Pacific Northwest. Quoted costs are for those tournaments and cover team entry fees, coaches and chaperone airfare, coaches food stipends, coaches and athlete's accommodations and team van rentals based on 12 athletes and a sliding scale. Athlete's airfare and meal expenses are not included. Travel Payment payment plans will be setup for each tournament. Please see our Travel Page for complete details on travel policies.


Kraken VC makes every effort to keep the costs of our programs low through various fundraising efforts. Kraken VC hosts adult skill clinics and tournaments, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting our youth programs. Club Fundraisers like Brown Bear car wash tickets, help offset our operating costs, and any tickets sold over the player minimum go directly to the player's Kraken Account, which they can use towards monthly dues, travel expenses and Krakan Gear.

Financial Aid

It is our goal to help families find financial solutions that will allow their athletes to play club volleyball. We have a limited # of partial financial aid awards available each season. Signing paymens must be made in full, so please plan accordingly. All aid requests must be completed prior to tryouts.
